Qualifications

At Boom Tennis, we are committed to developing the next generation of coaches. If you are aged 14 or over and passionate about the game, we provide a structured pathway to help you transition from player to qualified coach.

Coaching is more than just a job; it is an investment in your future. Whether you are looking for a rewarding Saturday job, a full-time career or a side hustle, the skills you develop coaching tennis are transferable to any profession.

By joining our programme, you will master:

Organisation: Managing groups, equipment and lesson plans.

Presentation: Learning how to speak confidently and give clear instructions. Responsibility: Leading by example and ensuring a safe, fun environment for younger players.

The Boom Tennis Progression Plan

We have a clear, hands-on process to get all over 14's from pupil to coach:

On-Court Experience: You will begin by working alongside our experienced coaching team, observing sessions and learning the Boom Tennis way of delivering lessons. Monday evenings at 4pm are the best day to get shadowing.

Competency Checklist: We provide a list of core competencies. As you master these practical skills, our senior coaches will sign them off. Once they're signed off you're free to start earning.

Money: Once your competencies are complete, you will be ready to begin assisting with sessions as a paid member of the team. We pay our assistant coaches £12 p/h, leading groups is £18 p/h and hitting sessions are £16 p/h.

Professional Investment

For those who have caught the coaching bug and wish to pursue tennis as a career path, we are here to support your professional growth. Boom Tennis will fund the LTA Level 1 qualification for committed young coaches who demonstrate the passion to turn pro.
